A required class in the Evening MBA program, providing students with the "sustainability literacy" that every manager needs. We work very much from the viewpoint of strategy, exploring the competitive implications of society's increasing focus on sustainability.

Foundations of strategy (ASU PhD)

The Foundations of Strategy class is one of two macro level courses all Management doctoral students take. It is offered every other year, alternating with the Organization Theory class offered by Don Lange. Managing Innovation in the Global Context (Illinois PhD)

This doctoral seminar focused on technology and innovation at a global scale. Topics included national systems of innovation, R&D in the multinational corporation and innovation outside the developed economies.

A module in the Professional Science Master program, which served engineering and science graduate students who are not intending to pursue an academic career. It provides a bridge between science/engineering and business.

Strategy (Illinois MS in Technology Management)

The Masters in Technology Management program at Illinois served both managers who found themselves managing technologists and scientists/engineers who are moving towards management. This class customized the standard strategy class to the MSTech context.

Global strategy (Illinois CEM Program)

A short course for the Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Managment in the Life Sciences (CEM) program at Illinois. CEM provides a basic introduction to management and entrepreneurship for doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows in the life sciences, most of whom are active in the Institute for Genomic Biology.

Technology strategy II (Illinois MBA)

This was an elective class, which followed the required Management of Technology and Strategy classes in the Illinois MBA. Management of Technology I was intended to provide the basic information any manager needs to manage in a technologically vibrant marketplace. This class was for students who intended to work more directly with technology and innovation.

Technology strategy (Illinois MBA/Law)

This course, offered in both the MBA and Law programs aimed at preparing non-technologists to participate effectively in the management of the innovation process. Its focus was not on technology per se, but on making students familiar with key concepts of technology management and more able to understand how their specialty interacts with innovation and technology processes within a firm.
